JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

The AIDS Impact Mitigation (AIM) Project is a 4-year project funded by the Presidential Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and implemented by Winrock International. AIM Project currently conducts activities by building the capacity of local non governmental and faith based organizations to implement project activities in fifteen states across Nigeria. The selected collaborating organizations have established Acada learning centers to provide numeracy and literacy skills to orphans and vulnerable children (OVC). Women and single mothers are also being trained in business development and vocational skills after which they will receive in-kind grants to establish small-scale income generating activities (IGAs) or will be recommended for micro-loans from Oceanic Bank International, Plc. The AIM project is looking to expand the geographic scope and programmatic areas of its activities to identify and reach out to commercial sex workers (CSW) with prevention messaging and administration of grants to enhance behavioral change in eight additional states. Staff will be based in Abuja.

Communication Specialist

Over 6 years experience in rural communications and information. A journalist background preferred. Desired key skills are to develop communications products, a draft communication strategy, reports, articles, newsletters, picture 1-page success stories and create project materials and templates such as project fact sheet, a contact database, power point presentation, brochure, stationery, business cards; e-newsletters, develop plan for development and maintenance of a AIM project web site.

Grants Assistant

The Grants Assistant will be responsible for supporting the achievement of AIM Project program objectives by assisting the Grants Manager to ensure that grant awards will be results-oriented and administered according to sound financial management principles. S/he will assist the Grants Manager to ensure all policies, practices and procedures relating to all aspects of the grants procedures are accurate. Completes and oversees requests for applications and selection process for grant funded activities. Assists in conducting pre-award assessments prior to administration of grants. Assists Grant Manager with drafting and management of IA Budgets and Grant Agreements.
Degree/Equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration, Statistics, Law or Financial Management, MBA a plus factor. A minimum of 3 years experience in administering USAID funded programs.
Applicants must be proficient in current office software. AIM will conduct a computer test for applicants. Applicants that do not have strong computer skills are discouraged from applying.
