| Event Details | KAPC’s conference provides an opportunity for counsellors and those interested in counselling to exchange thoughts, opinions and experiences. Counsellors need to explore how they perceive their own gender role and how this affects their work with clients of the same or opposite gender. It is our hope that our deliberations will culminate in a set of recommendations that contribute to the mainstreaming of gender programs in schools, health, politics and in the counselling profession as a whole.
The traditional topics will also feature in the conference including: training, supervision, acreditation, counselling in schools, HIV/AIDS, ethical concerns and standards. Common themes will be grouped into sessions. People should feel free to make suggestions to the Conference Committee. The conference will be organised around presentations and each presentation will be allocated 15 minutes, together with an equal amount of time for discussion. People who wish to make a presentation should complete the official abstract form. The form should give sufficient information to show the development of the presentation. The Conference Committee will review abstracts and select papers accordingly.
Everybody wishing to attend the conference must complete the official registration form and send it with the fee of US$50. The late registration fee payable after 16/8/03 is US$60.
