DescriptionLessons from the Generation Dialogue and Training for Uncircumcised Girls in Guinea
Notes/AbstractAction research is an instrument that is well-suited to situations where there is a desire to simultaneously achieve change (the "action") and understanding (the "research"). The "generation dialogue" shows how semi-structured individual interviews were used to survey the intervention and control zones. The example of the "Training of Uncircumcised Girls" explains how pre- and post-intervention surveys were used to gather information about non-conforming families, and to explore their expectations and satisfaction with this approach. The above examples show how action research can be used as a tool to integrate impact monitoring and measuring change into the implementation of project activities.
